# Encool website: Webflow implementation brief

**For:** Claude (or a developer) working inside the Encool Webflow account

## How to use this brief

Paste this file into a Claude session that has access to Webflow (via the Designer open in Chrome, or manually following its instructions). Work through the sections in order. The static build is the visual and content reference: when in doubt, copy what the mockup does.

## 0. Before touching anything

1. In Webflow: Site settings > General > Duplicate the site as a backup, or confirm Backups are available (Site settings > Backups).
2. Do all work against the Webflow staging domain (`.webflow.io`) and only publish to encool.co.uk at the end.
3. Do NOT rename any page slugs. The mockup deliberately keeps every existing URL. Renaming slugs loses Google rankings.

## 1. Global fixes (Symbols/Components, one edit fixes every page)

1. **Button labels.** A shared link/button component has its accessible label set to "View office address" and it renders on virtually every button sitewide. Find the component (start from the homepage hero buttons), fix the label structure so each button shows its real text: View products, Unit calculator, Contact us, System info, View unit, etc. Match the mockup's button texts.
2. **Footer.** Replace the unrendered `{{year}}` with Webflow's dynamic year or plain 2026; link engineers@encool.co.uk and accounts@encool.co.uk as mailto links; link the phone as tel:+442087989230; remove `#` placeholder links; the footer link structure to copy is at the bottom of any mockup page.
3. **Navigation.** The Applications dropdown links contain stray leading spaces in their URLs (e.g. `/topics/ commercial-wine-cellars`). Re-point every dropdown link to the clean slug. Add "Guides & articles" linking to the blog listing under Support.
4. **Staging links.** Search all link fields for `encool-60e05b.webflow.io` and `?test_equal` and replace with the correct internal targets (see the mockup for each location; the "Cabinet Cooling" quick-nav card on the four category pages is the main offender).

## 2. Page titles, meta descriptions and H1s

Set these in Page settings > SEO settings (static pages) or the SEO fields on the CMS template/items (CMS pages). Every page must have exactly one H1.

Meta descriptions: copy each page's `<meta name="description">` from the corresponding page in the source zip (unique per page, 140-160 characters).

## 3. Content corrections (copy from the mockup, page by page)

1. **Calculator page:** the live copy recommends "Wine Guardian" (a competitor) in US units. Replace the page content with the mockup's calculator copy and logic (metric, recommends Encool units by cellar volume). The working JS logic is in the source zip at `/calculator/index.html` if an embed is wanted; otherwise reproduce the guidance copy and use the form/contact CTA.
2. **FAQ page:** delete the duplicated "Commissioning and Maintenance" section (it repeats the Ducting and Airflow questions verbatim). Fix typos per the mockup (Celsius, triple, introduce, choosing, "can increase"). Make the calculator and La Reserve references real links.
3. **Typos sitewide:** the mockup copy is the corrected version. Notable fixes: premises (home), skilled / successfully / "design and specify" (about), brand name is always "Encool" (never EnCool or Ecool, including in topic page titles).
4. **Spec tables:** remove stray quote marks; Humidity unit is % not °C; the VHSN-J15 and VHSN-J30 spec tables must say VHSN (the live CMS items are labelled HSN).
5. **Placeholders:** remove "This is the default text value" (owners manuals page) and the stray placeholder slider at the bottom of the through-the-wall page.
6. **Empty pages:** the wine-cabinets and non-wine-applications topic pages are empty on live. Populate them with the mockup's content.
7. **Blog:** give /blog/small-wine-rooms its own title and meta (it currently duplicates the insulation post's); create a blog listing page; fix the future post dates.

## 4. Client-requested edits (already reflected in the mockup)

1. Homepage featured products are VHSN-J15 and VHSN-J30 (not HSN-JC8), using actual product renders, not room renders.
2. Products page order: Wine Walls Plug & Play, VHSN-J15, VHSN-J30, HSN-JC8, JT-20, HSN-J60, HSN-J90, HSN-J150. In Webflow this is the collection list sort or a manual order field on the Products collection.
3. HSN-JC8 category label reads "Self-contained system" (not Through-the-wall).
4. Ducted split page "How it works" image is the ducted installation cutaway; ductless split page feature image is the ductless installation cutaway. Both image files are in the source zip under `/assets/img/`, ready to upload to Webflow assets.

## 5. FAQ modules

Relevant FAQs appear as a "Common questions" accordion on 23 pages (home, category, product, application and calculator pages), each linking to the full FAQ page. In Webflow, build this once as a component fed by an FAQs CMS collection with a category/reference field, so each page pulls its relevant questions. Question-to-page mapping and exact wording: see each page of the mockup. Keep FAQ structured data on the FAQ page only.

## 6. Structured data and technical

1. Add JSON-LD per page type via page settings custom code, copying from the source zip pages: Organization + WebSite (home), Product (each product page), FAQPage (FAQ page only), Article (blog posts), BreadcrumbList (all pages).
2. Every image needs descriptive alt text: copy from the mockup's img alt attributes.
3. Verify /sitemap.xml serves valid XML after publish (Webflow auto-generates when enabled in Site settings > SEO) and robots.txt allows crawling.
4. Contact form: keep the native Webflow form; fields per the mockup (name, email, phone, enquiry type, county, message, consent). Note the consent text needs real Terms/Privacy pages, which do not exist yet: flag to Encool.

## 7. Publish checklist

1. All pages reviewed against the mockup on desktop and 375px mobile (burger menu opens and scrolls, calculator works, no horizontal scroll).
2. Search the whole project once more for: "View office address", "Wine Guardian", "encool-60e05b", "{{year}}", "Ecool".
3. Publish to staging, click every nav link, then publish to encool.co.uk.
4. Afterwards: submit the sitemap in Google Search Console (set one up if none exists).
